Durban Tourism has launched its first international television and digital advertising campaign to promote Durban as a tourist destination to overseas markets. The campaign will be screened on National Geographic channels globally reaching 363 million households across 160 countries.
National Geographic has created a 60 second advert around the concept “Sounds of Durban” using the sounds of the city to create a unique symphony. The advert showcases prominent elements of the city capturing the tapestry of warm welcoming people, natural beauty and entertainment in the city. The overall campaign will show the diversity and multi-culturalism of South Africa’s third largest city through the eyes of its people.
Over the next three years Nation Geographic will run the campaign and as well as a 60 minute documentary on the city as well as interesting content on their website and online channels, magazines and other platforms to an audience of global travelers.
